Privacy Policy

How we handle your data

Beloved Africa Safaris Limited ("we," "us," "BASL") is committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with Tanzania's Personal Data Protection Act, 2022 (Act No. 11 of 2022). This page explains what we collect, why, and what rights you have over it.

Who we are

The data controller

Beloved Africa Safaris Limited, based in Arusha, Tanzania, is the data controller for the personal data described on this page. For any question about this policy or your data, contact us at info@belovedafricasafaris.com or +255 742 274 746.

What we collect

Information you give us

When you send us an enquiry through this website, we collect what you choose to give us: your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, country, preferred travel dates, party size, trip interests, accommodation and budget preferences, any occasion you mention, and any message you write. We don't collect anything beyond what appears in our forms.

Analytics

How we measure website use

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use this website — which pages are viewed, which links and buttons are clicked, and general navigation patterns. This helps us improve the site and understand which safaris and destinations people are most interested in.

This tracking does not collect your name, email address, phone number, or the contents of any message or form you submit. It records anonymised, aggregate usage patterns — for example, that a visitor clicked "WhatsApp" or viewed content related to Kilimanjaro, not who that visitor was. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar device identifiers to distinguish visits; you can block these using your browser's privacy settings or a browser extension without affecting your ability to use this website or contact us.

How your enquiry actually works

No database, no server storage

Our enquiry forms open a pre-filled email in your own email application, addressed to us — the information you enter never passes through a server or database we operate. Once you send that email, it's stored the same way any other email you send is stored: in your outbox and in our inbox. We treat it with the same confidentiality as any other private correspondence.

Why we collect it

Purpose and lawful basis

We use your information solely to respond to your enquiry, design and quote a safari itinerary, and — if you proceed — to arrange and deliver your trip (accommodation, park permits, guides, transfers). We process this data on the basis of your consent in submitting the form, and, once you book, to perform our contract with you. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Guest stories, reviews & photos

Nothing published without your consent

We will never publish your name, photo, trip details, or review on this website, in marketing materials, or on social media without asking you first and receiving your explicit, separate consent to do so. If you'd like to share feedback publicly, we'll ask exactly what you're comfortable with — your name, initials only, or fully anonymous — before anything goes live.

Sharing with third parties

Only where necessary to deliver your trip

Where you proceed with a booking, we share the minimum necessary information — typically your name, travel dates, and relevant preferences — with accommodation providers, park authorities, and transport partners involved in delivering your itinerary. We do not share your contact details with them beyond what's needed to arrange your trip.

How long we keep it

Data retention

We keep enquiry and booking correspondence for as long as reasonably needed to respond to you, deliver a booked trip, and meet any legal or accounting obligations afterward. If you ask us to delete your information and we have no ongoing legal reason to retain it, we will.

Your rights

What you can ask of us

Under the Personal Data Protection Act, 2022, you have the right to ask us what personal data we hold about you, to correct anything inaccurate, to ask us to delete it, and to object to how it's used. To exercise any of these rights, email info@belovedafricasafaris.com. If you believe we haven't handled your data properly, you also have the right to complain to Tanzania's Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC).

International transfers

Where your data may travel

Because enquiries are sent by email, your message may pass through email infrastructure located outside Tanzania (for example, if you or we use an international email provider). We take reasonable care to work with reputable providers, consistent with the data protection requirements of the Act.

Security

How we protect it

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to keep your information secure, including limiting who within our team can access enquiry correspondence. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security, but we take this responsibility seriously.

Changes to this policy

Updates

We may update this policy as our services or the law change. The version on this page is always the current one. This policy was last updated on 13 August 2026.
